Skyline GranFondo Belgrade

The famous cycling event titled GranFondo was held yesterday under the patronage of the City of Belgrade and Skyline Belgrade, with more than 450 participants from 17 countries from all over the world. This event was also supported by the Ministry of Sport and Youth, as well as by the Cycling Association of Belgrade and the Cycling Association of Serbia, as well as technical co-organizers.

GranFondo is a cycling event which has in the past 5 decades gained astonishing popularity in Europe and around the world, and this is the first time that the cycling fans from Serbia had the opportunity to be a part of this unique sports adventure. Skyline GranFondo Belgrade offered the competitors two tracks. One for serious participants, with a length of 126km, and a somewhat easier track, which was 75km long, and each participant could choose their track in accordance with their capabilities. All domestic and foreign cyclists were able to participate, triathlon racers and para-cyclists, amateurs and recreational cyclists, ages 16-75. This manifestation featured some of the most prominent names of the cycling world, such as Robert Kišerlovski – team Katusha Alpecin, Simon Špilak, Kristijan Koren, Luka Mezgec and Gianmarco Agostini, while the race had been opened by Živorad Mićić, the legendary “Uncle Žika”, the oldest Serbian cyclist.

In addition to the main competition race, a pleasure race titled FunFondo had also been held, where all cycling enthusiasts for whom the main GranFondo race was too much to handle could participate, and this less ambitious, but equally fun race attracted a large number of families, students and others. For the youngest, the race KidFondo was organized on Kolarčeva-Terazije route, with a large number of children aged 4-8 competing in the race of balance bikes, i.e. bikes without pedals, as well as in a slow ride around cones.

The absolute winners in the male and female categories were awarded carbon bicycle frames “Dedacciai Gladiatore”, while the winner of the hilltop goal on Kosmaj became the owner of “Campagnolo Bora” carbon wheels. Two carbon frames “Scott Addict” were awarded in individual categories, as well as a “Garmin Sat” for the small hilltop goal at Trešnja.

The Skyline Belgrade project supported the organization of this cycling event, and project CEO Adir El Al awarded the winner with a state-of-the-art carbon bicycle frame “Dedaccai Gladiatore”, and on that occasion stated: “Skyline Belgrade, the project which I proudly represent, will serve as a modern commercial and residential complex of impressive dimensions at a prestigious downtown location. I would like to emphasize that we will gladly continue to support events which promote true values and which represent Belgrade in the best light. Skyline Belgrade, as the emerging symbol of the capital, will continue to invest into the local community in the future as well, primarily through support to sports, young talents and environmental initiatives.”

Skyline Belgrade will be absolutely refreshing in both urban and architectural sense, with more than 100,000 square metres. Elegant and sophisticated architectural appeal will adorn this project worth EUR 200 million, which will offer it’s residents special benefits such as private swimming pool and spa, private reception area, professional maintenance, and an array of recreational and entertainment content. Each apartment within the complex will be a unique, deluxe, comfortable peace of heaven touching the Belgrade skies.
